Meet the Champ 2025

17–18 Oct 2025
Kota Bharu

Meet the Champ 2025 was a two-day coffee event held in Kota Bharu, featuring Malaysia’s national coffee champions and celebrating community, craft, and connection through coffee.

The event featured Nas Jaafar, the 2025 Malaysia Brewers Cup Champion, and Jacky, the 2025 Malaysia Latte Art Champion. The sessions were held in conjunction with the launch of Superdough 2.0 Kubang Kerian and collaborative sessions at Drum & Desk.

During his competition performance, Nas shared a message that reflected the spirit of the event:

“To every young brewer in Malaysia finding their voice and building this growing community together… no matter where we start, we always have the power to adapt, improve and transform.”

Across both days, the sessions highlighted connection, humility, and passion, values that continue to shape Malaysia’s growing specialty coffee community.

U Mobile x Water The Plant Pop Up

23 Aug 2025
Sunway Pyramid

We were part of a pop up event celebrating the collaboration between U Mobile and Water The Plant, held at Sunway Pyramid.

The event marked the launch of a collection inspired by connection and going beyond borders, reflecting U Mobile’s roaming concept of staying connected wherever you go using a U Mobile SIM card.

As part of the activation, we served complimentary coffee and created a special signature drink exclusively for the collaboration. An Orange Juice Espresso was curated to match the vibrant and playful energy of the event, adding a refreshing twist to the coffee experience for attendees.

We are grateful to U Mobile and Water The Plant for having us and for the opportunity to be part of a fun and energetic collaboration.

Good Coffee Fest 2025

15–17 Aug 2025
The Campus, Ampang

Good Coffee Fest 2025 brought together coffee lovers, roasters, and communities for a vibrant weekend celebrating creativity and connection through coffee. This marked our third appearance at the festival, and the response from the crowd made it a memorable one.

We debuted our Banana Pudding x Espresso, which quickly became a crowd favourite, alongside The Espressotini and Iced Sidra Colombia La Quebraditas, keeping energy and conversations flowing throughout the weekend. With a fully packed aisle at the Roaster Village, the booth stayed busy from start to finish, reminding us once again that coffee is for everyone.

Whether visitors came specifically for the Banana Pudding Espresso, discovered us after the roaster cupping sessions, or simply stopped by to connect, the festival highlighted the strength of Malaysia’s coffee community and the joy of sharing a cup together.

A heartfelt thank you to Ghostbird Coffee, fellow roasters from near and far, and everyone who visited the booth and shared a coffee and a smile.

All About Chew x Mimpi Kita Pop Up

7–8 Aug 2025
Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre

We had the honour of being part of a creative collaboration between All About Chew and Mimpi Kita during Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2025.

As part of the pop up, we curated a coffee based beverage inspired by All About Chew’s signature cookies. The brief was to create a drink that felt dreamy, visually layered with a soft colour gradient, and aligned with the collaboration’s aesthetic. The result was a mocha deluxe that was indulgent, flavourful, and visually striking, complementing the overall vibe of the event.

The pop up supported the Mimpi Kita x All About Chew collaboration showcased at KL Fashion Week, where Mimpi Kita presented selected merchandise from the collection. Complimentary coffee was served to VIP guests and top clients as part of the experience.

We are grateful for the trust and opportunity to be involved in this collaboration and to contribute to a memorable Fashion Week moment.

We were proud to host the Malaysia Aeropress Championship 2025 East Coast Regional for the second year running in Kelantan, bringing together passionate brewers and the wider coffee community for a day of competition, learning, and connection.

Malaysia Open Barista Championship 2025

24–26 Apr 2025
Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre

We were proud to be part of the Malaysia Open Barista Championship 2025, held alongside the International Cafe & Beverage Show at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

This year marked a special milestone for us as both Thariq Aziz and Tar Shen advanced to the finals in their respective categories. Seeing them return to the competition stage, stronger and more focused, was a proud moment for the entire team.

On the competition front, Thariq’s performance with his competition coffee, Ecuador El Limón Typica Mejorado honey processed, earned him a Top 5 placement at the Malaysia Open Barista Championship 2025. The journey to the finals reflected months of dedication, long practice hours, and a deep commitment to craft.

During the event, we took over both the espresso and filter bar at the Barista Guild Asia booth on Day 1, connecting with familiar faces and welcoming many new ones. We featured two new coffees throughout the showcase:

  • VERASUKE Espresso Blend
Colombia Las Veraneras and Ethiopia Suke Quto
  • Honduras Cabanas Natural
Curated and roasted for filter brewing

The event wrapped up with an incredible atmosphere filled with encouragement, learning, and shared passion for coffee. Thank you to everyone who dropped by the booth, cheered from the sidelines, and supported the competitors throughout the show.

We are grateful to be part of a community that continues to grow, push boundaries, and celebrate excellence in coffee.

Malaysia Coffee Week 2025 East Coast Edition

10–13 Apr 2025
Kuantan

We were excited to be part of the first-ever East Coast edition of Malaysia Coffee Week, held at East Coast Mall. Bringing the vibes to Kuantan, the event blended coffee, conversation, and festive Raya spirit, with many visitors joining us in baju raya on Saturday.

For this edition, we introduced event-only offerings curated specially for the crowd. Visitors enjoyed a chilled batch brew served over ice with a dash of oat milk, created exclusively for Malaysia Coffee Week East Coast. We also released our seasonal Eco Raya Blend, available at the booth for those who wanted to bring the experience home.

A highlight of the weekend was our mini game “Teko Beans Gapo?”, an idea inspired by the everyday conversations we have with our regulars at the shop. Guests tasted, guessed, and celebrated coffee with us, with correct guesses earning a cup of coffee and a spin of the wheel. The activity brought plenty of laughs, learning moments, and friendly competition throughout the event.

The weekend wrapped up with an incredible crowd and warm energy from start to finish. A special thank you to the Barista Guild Asia team for the short bar takeover on Saturday afternoon, and to everyone who stopped by, shared a coffee, joined the games, and brought the Raya spirit to the booth.

Thank you, Kuantan, for making the first East Coast Malaysia Coffee Week a memorable one.

Malaysia Coffee Week 2024

3-6 Oct 2024
One Utama

We were part of Malaysia Coffee Week 2025 at One Utama Shopping Centre, serving coffee and connecting with a wide spectrum of coffee lovers over four days.

For this edition, we introduced our Espresso Irish Cream, a curated beverage created to be indulgent yet approachable for both casual coffee drinkers and enthusiasts. Alongside this, we collaborated with Bengbeng Sourdough to offer a selection of espresso-inspired food items, including Espresso Butter Toast and Bagels with Espresso Cream Cheese, created exclusively for the event.

Throughout the week, the festival reflected the diversity of the coffee industry, bringing together home brewers, baristas, roasters, and everyday coffee drinkers. For us at Drum Coffee, the event reinforced the importance of understanding where we fit within this landscape.

While our core focus remains serving the coffee business community through blends that resonate with our partners and their customers, Malaysia Coffee Week provided an opportunity to bridge the gap with consumers. By presenting espresso in different forms, from straight shots to milk-based drinks and curated beverages, we aim to make coffee more accessible and appreciated across a wider audience.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a coffee, and spent time with us at One Utama.

Malaysia Coffee Week 2023

26-29 Oct 2023
One Utama

We were part of Malaysia Coffee Week 2023, held at One Utama Shopping Centre, with our booth located at the LG Oval.

Across four days, we served close to 800 cups of kopi and cham beng, sharing our take on Malaysian Kopi, Reimagined. From non stop espresso pulls to brewing single origin selections, the booth was constantly filled with conversations, coffee tasting moments, and familiar Malaysian rituals like ikat tepi kopi. Seeing visitors take photos, tag their moments, and bring home bags of our coffee made the experience especially meaningful.

The weekend was intense and rewarding. Tired feet, full hearts. We are grateful to everyone who stopped by, tasted our coffee, shared a moment with us, and supported the booth throughout the event.

Thank you for making Malaysia Coffee Week 2023 an unforgettable experience. We look forward to returning with an even better experience next year.

Malaysia Coffee Week 2022

3-6 Mar 2022
One Utama

We took part in Malaysia Coffee Week 2022, held at One Utama Shopping Centre, serving coffee, connecting with the community, and sharing what we love most over four full days.

Throughout the weekend, we offered free sampling of our single origin coffees on filter alongside special curated coffee mocktails made using our house blend and Monin syrup. Visitors could also enjoy pastries from Bengbeng Sourdough, pairing coffee with freshly baked croissants.

As the event came to a close, we extended our Malaysia Coffee Week special deals to our online store, allowing those who could not attend in person to enjoy the promotion as well. The booth remained a lively space filled with conversations, familiar faces, and new introductions, with baristas working non stop throughout the event.

We were also joined by a special guest appearance from Ali Shaoqee, adding to the fun and energy at the booth.
